Grasshopper Family,

Happy FIRST FRIDAY of 2024!

How did the New Year start for you? How did it start for your family and friends? How did it start for you professionally?

Oh man....things are shaping up quite clearly here at Grasshopper Farms.

Colorado is just about done processing the 2023 harvest. They have some test results that are coming back and we are feeling great about the path forward. Not to mention, they have been working under the cover of snow and freezing temperatures!

We are poised to take a few next steps in New Jersey. More of the buildout has been completed and we have been doing prep meetings this week for the planning board meeting on January 18th. An astute observation from our engineer is that this process would not even warrant a planning board review with what we have proposed if not for one word - cannabis. This is our industry. While we are not doing anything differently than other agricultural cultivation operators, cannabis builds on a layer of caution and process. This is part of our responsibility. Patience. Education. Collaboration.

Minnesota continues to move forward! Jamie and Seth have been reviewing viable properties and we have our first candidate of three! And it looks GOOD. I am REALLY excited about our Minnesota opportunity.

Michigan is making some moves. Big moves! The flower is getting incredible reviews. Our mission to provide quality and consistency is working. Check out Adam crushing a vendor day!

The team started playing around with an idea that is now becoming a reality...infused pre rolls. Yes. That is happening. The favorite so far is chocolate-strawberry. With our quality material and some gentle infusing (with our own GHF distillate!) we have created an incredible product in a VERY HIGH demand sector of the market - infused pre rolls. Super high demand.

The good news is how organically this happened. We did not set out to be a pre roll supplier. We did not set out to tackle infused pre rolls. Our focus was and continues to be on our identity - premium sun-grown flower. That focus allowed us to nurture a truly premium product, now as reported by the market over a three year period.

But, when you produce flower, you also produce pre roll material and biomass as well and we could sell both with our initial licensure. We then came up with an idea to do a multi pack of pre rolls, five different individual strains. That required us to get a processor (manufacturing) license, just to pack them together. So, we did. And, it was successful. But, there is so much more we can do with that license. Now, to maintain focus and discipline, we needed to discuss IF we would do something and what would that singular thing be?

Well, it turns out that we could actually do infused pre rolls in a very straightforward way to create a more valuable product. Win!

We had a few more items published! Check out how this article popped back up in Cannabis Business Times and a blog we wrote.

How Much Did an Ounce of Cannabis Flower Cost in 2023? - Cannabis Business Times

Key Considerations For Starting A Cannabis Business

We are rounding out the first week of the year. And we could not be more excited. We hit this week by storm. Many of us spent Monday, January 1st, doing some personal growth and development work. The focus is on. The discipline is on.

We are on.

I hope you are all having a fantastic start to 2024 and look forward to hearing about all of your success!!

Onwards!
